February Roundup
A snapshot of the past month of music and mixes at Delayed
FAVORITE RELEASES
Brooklyn in February does that thing where the city turns into a freezer aisle, and your brain quietly starts budgeting energy. You move more slowly, you stay in more, you listen longer. February never warmed up. The music did what it always does: made it manageable.
FAVORITE MIXES
Until teleportation becomes a thing, music’s the closest hack we’ve got. February in Brooklyn has been a long reminder that winter is basically an endurance sport, but the mixes we kept returning to had range: some pulled us back into last year’s best memories, others dropped us into rooms we never made it to. Most of this list is live recordings, which matters. You can hear the temperature of a space, the length of a pause, the way a DJ takes a risk when there’s an actual crowd in front of them.
SUNDAYS ARE FOR…
After a rough start to the year, it's been a great solace to spend time listening through release after release, slowly crafting the morning's journey. Less breaking news, less distractions, less negative feelings, a true sanctuary.
Syntbiont & Anassimandrus delivered an early-morning 3h hybrid set at Seed stage, during the 2024 edition of Mo:Dem festival. A combination of field recording and layered tracks carefully selected to stimulate the brain and the body with subtle sonic elements and smooth progressions.
